Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat again criticized Bollywood for her alleged "hypocrisy" and accused her of stealing Pakistani songs.
His comment came as a result of Alia Bhatt's recent music video debut with Punjabi's song 'Prada' that has some similarities to the Pakistani song 'Gore Rang Ka Zamana' from the album 'Vital Signs'.
It was pointed out by many Twitter users after which, Hayat accused Bollywood of plagiarism. "It seems strange to me. On the one hand, Bollywood vilifies Pakistan every time they have. On the other, they continue to steal our songs. The violation of copyright and royalty payments obviously means nothing to them," he tweeted.
Written by Shoaib Mansoor, the song 'Gore Rang Ka Zamana' was released as part of Volume 1 of 'Vital Signs'.
Hayat also criticized Shah Rukh Khan's latest Netflix production 'Bard of Blood'. "This simply claims what I have been saying. Another week and another anti-Pakistan project," he shared on Twitter.
"Can we wake up, smell the coffee and see the Bollywood agenda to find out what it is? Shah Rukh Khan, be patriotic, nobody will stop you, just don't do it at the expense of vilifying us," Hayat tweeted.
Hayat had maintained his position in an opinion piece written for CNN previously. "Indian Prime Minister Modi has possibly co-opted and armed the country's film industry. It is difficult, often impossible, for Pakistani actors to find work in India," he wrote.
